The Blanchardstown project creates a new, high density, mixed use town centre in lieu of the existing low-rise shopping centre, which will become a major focal point in this suburban context.
This is achieved by moving the existing surface car parking into multi storey mobility hubs, thereby making a significant site available for the new town centre, with streets and squares forming edges and spaces with strong urban characteristics. The scale and architectural language of the buildings varies to indicate key node points, routes and public spaces, setting a precedent for the transformation of suburban centres.
