The former Irish Glass Bottle Site and the adjoining lands represent an area of strategic importance to Dublin City. O’Mahony Pike Architects’ detailed masterplan was commissioned by the statutory receiver to inform Dublin City Council’s Poolbeg West Planning Scheme and Strategic Development Zone.

Connected to the City Centre by the vibrant docklands quarter, the masterplan illustrates a vision for this iconic site as a home for 8,000 residents, together with significant, sustainable employment.

The masterplan concerns itself with connecting with the physical, environmental, economic and social fabric of the city, the bay and the adjoining neighbourhoods. The proposed, sustainable, urban neighbourhood responds to its unique location, enhancing the enjoyment of local amenities for existing and future residents, protecting the special status of Dublin Bay and the intrinsic functions of the port/municipal facilities.
