The subject site is an attractive new neighbourhood on the lands of the former Knockrabo estate. The proposal contains a range of different housing and apartment types, within a well defined and well designed public realm.
The site strategy successfully resolves the many challenges of the site, retaining the specimen mature trees in generous public open spaces, using the protected structures as focal points, creating attractive streets that enjoy views over Dublin while also carefully dealing with the steep gradient, and phasing the project to resolve access requirements to the future Dublin eastern bypass.
