Scholarstown Wood is conceived as four neighbourhoods within a single development area, each of which has its own access route and public open spaces, enabling the scheme to be delivered in separate phases, and for each neighbourhood to have a distinct identity.

Throughout the scheme, the streets are configured to capture views of existing landscape features, the vista of each one terminated by public open space or the green belt surrounding the site. Three apartment blocks are located within the consolidated green space at the western site boundary. These provide a variety of unit types as well as passive supervision of the open spaces, and create a parkland setting allowing retention of mature trees.
