Somerton Village, located on the north east of Adamstown, is an attractive housing development which provide a variety of family homes within contemporary streetscapes. The variety of house types provides an opportunity for existing Adamstown residents to trade up within their community, and also attracts new families to the area.

A crescent of houses provides strong frontage onto the Newcastle Road, effectively announcing the northern edge of Adamstown. A pair of contemporary gatelodges, based on significant historic architectural buildings within Lucan Village, are located around a proposed, mature oak tree at the entrance to Somerton, demarcating the northern entrance to the new settlement.

Streets in the scheme are organised to take full advantage of the mature belt of trees that surround Somerton House, a protected structure – the main spine route through the scheme runs alongside the trees, which also provide a visual focus at the end of the shared surface streets.
