Located in Dublin’s Liberties, this student housing scheme involves the refurbishment of No. 30 and No.s 32 – 36 Thomas Street, and the insertion of a new building within the depth of the urban block to the rear of the restored historic structures.
A historic, red brick wall is retained, weaving its way through the project’s courtyard spaces, and providing a strong material contrast between the rendered external walls of the new buildings. The project creates a new, red brick streetscape onto St. Catherine’s Lane West, overlooking St. Catherine’s Park.
The buildings vary in height, with four stories being the predominant height, stepping up to six storeys in the centre of the scheme.
