Glenveagh Properties have been granted planning for a 219 bed hotel by DCC on the corner of East Road and Sheriff Street. Our design takes a prominent but underutilised corner, and turns it into a landmark within the North Docklands. The materiality is reminiscent of the areas industrial heritage, with the forms and articulation hinting back to Dublin’s ubiquitous corner buildings. The public realm is also significantly extended with a bar and restaurant animating the streetscape. The hotel forms part of a larger masterplan for the site, setting up a rhythm and scale one would expect to find in a vibrant urban setting.
