We are delighted to announce the lodgment of a planning application for a residential development for Cork Simon Community near Kent Station, Cork. Designed to complement and integrate with the emerging Horgan’s Quay Quarter, the simple massing of the building, articulated around the retained Turbine House, will host 78 apartments, a roof terrace and communal areas, as well as a café.

A contemporary intervention will mesh the two storeys Turbine House with the new proposed brick clad building. Inserted sculpted metal frames will highlight the café and open the Turbine House to the local public realm. The new block’s finishes (brick and metal) have been selected to blend harmoniously with the local emerging context.

Above, over nine floors, the generous open plan apartments will benefit from views towards the Tivoli/ Montenotte Ridge, and the River Lee’s corridor.
